Cloud Strife
Description	A former member of SOLDIER, he became a mercenary who would take any job after the death of his firend Zack. He got hooked up with AVALANCHE, the small group of rebels fighting the mighty Shinra. From there on, he gets caught up in the struggle to save the planet from Sephiroth's mighty magic. His memories of the past, however, seems to only be half-true...

Aeris Gainsborough
Description	An orphaned flower girl who lives in Midgar, see is interested in deeping the love triangle between herself, Cloud, and Tifa. Shinra's Turks are interested in her, because she is a member of the ancient Cetra. She seems to be the only one who can find the Promised Land, other than Sephiroth, and thus is an important member of the party.

Tifa Lockheart
Description	A childhood friend of Cloud, she became a member of AVALANCH shortly after Sphiroth killed her father. She hosts the bar called 7th Heaven in Midgar Sector 7. She has feelings for Cloud, but won't admit it. See is the only source who knows the truth about Cloud's past.

Barret Wallace
Description	Now the head of the resistance group AVALANCHE, Barret lives with his adopted daughter Marlene. Several years ago, he aggreed to have a Mako reactor built near his hometown, Corel. His friend Dyne was the only opposition. Soon, the reactor exploded and the Shinra attacked Corel. Barret lost his arm and his wife in the battle, but managed to save Dyne's daughter, Marlene.

Red XIII
Description	The only surving guardian of Cosmo Canyon, where he is known as Nanaki, he was captured by Shinra for future use by Hojo. He is an intelligent animal with high longevity. His grandfather decided to help Cloud and the others on their journey by picking up anomalies in his observatory. As a creature of the planet, Red is obliged to help Cloud.

Cid Highwind
Description	Known as the best pilot in the world, Shinra inlisted him to fly the No. 26 rocket into space. That was when Shinra was a weapons developer. When the flight had to be rescheduled, Shinra cut off Space Exploration funding and became a Mako company. Among Cid's creations are Shinra's airship, the Highwind, and the Tiny Bronco. Cid hopes to one day achieve his dream of being in outerspace.

Yuffie Kisaragi
Description	A ninja from Wutai, she hopes to bring power back to Wutai through materia. Since Wutai supposedly lost its tradition and became a tourist town, Yuffie has been wandering the forests near Gongaga waiting for travelers to come to steal from. Her father Godo, however, seems to still have preserved the ways of Wutai.

Caith Sith
Description	Known to Cloud and the others as a fortune teller who rides upon a stuffed mog, he is really a liar. Not only are his fortunes usually wrong, he really a Shinra spy. His real body, known as Reeve, resides in Midgar. However, he becomes a traitor to Shinra and helps Cloud's band once he realizes the full magnitude of Shinra's plans.

Vincent Valentine
Description	A former Turk who opposed Dr. Hojo to save the women he loved, Lucrecia, from becoming an experiment. He was shot and chemically altered, then locked in the basement of the Shinra Mansion in Nibleheim. He is not much of talker, and looks frail, but his gun's deadly aim and his ability to alter his form make him a formidable opponent.

President Shinra
Description	The founder and president of Shinra, he is a money driven freak. His only concerns are money and Mako. Ever since he has heard of the Promised Land, he has been looking for Cetra to employ to find it. He is convinced the Promised Land will be full of Mako.

Vice President Rufus
Description	The son of president Shinra, he hates the way his father rules through money. He wishes to establish an empire in which he rules through fear. He gets his chance when Sephiroth assassinates President Shinra.

Heidegger
Description	The head of Public Maintanance and Order Division. Heidegger also likes the way Rufus rules, and thus gives him full support. He is the head of the Turks divison as well. The turks speacilize in abductions and assassinations.

Dr. Hojo
Description	The head of the Science and Chemistry Division. He is a crazy scientist who constantly is combining DNA to make new creatures. He also makes new creatures through intense Mako exposure. HE is Sephiroth's father.

Scarlet
Description	The head of the Weapons Development Division. She is looking for huge materia to make powerful weapons with. She is responsible for such weapons as the Sister Ray. She likes rule by terror as well.

Palmer
Description	The Head of the Space Division. He was once a powerful part of the managent, but with Space Exploration out of the picture, he hols far less power.

Reeve
Description	The Head of City Development. He does not like the way either the ifrst or second president rule. He controls Caith Sith from the Shinra Building.

Tseng
Description	The leader of the Turks, he has known Aeris since she was a little girl. He completes every job quickly.

Reno
Description	A member of the Turks organization, he is hotheaded and an alcohol drinker. He carries out all his jobs with perfection.

Rude
Description	A member of the Turks, rude is coll and collected, and is a good fighter. He has been with the Turks for a long time.

Elena
Description	The newest member of the Turks organization. She has feelings for Tseng, but she doesn't let them get in the way of her work..

Sephiroth
Description	Once the strongest member of SOLDIER, he was supposedly killed. He is an the son of Lucrecia and Dr. Hojo mixed with the blood of the ancient, Jenova. He hopes to become part of the planet by summoning a meteor to heavily damage the planet. The energy drawn to heal the injury will make him part of Planet.
